- As: Nick Cave was vocals. Mick Harvey was vocals, guitar, and drums. Tracy Pew was on bass and vocals. Phill Calvert was on drums. & Rowland S. Howard was vocals and guitar Birthday Party is as if someone playing Jazz kicked your teeth in.

- The band has one video that I know of for the song - Nick the Stripper - which makes me feel like I'm in some kind of zombie movie with really cool guitar tones.
In 1983 the band broke up due to a split between the friendship of Cave and Howard, in addition to work and drug related exhaustion. After the brake up the members formed other acts like; Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Crime and the City Solution, These Immortal Souls, and Honeymoon in Red.
Birthday Party has been noted for influencing bands such as:

- My Bloody Valentine
- The Jesus Lizard
- Dinosaur Jr
- The Horrors
This band is also a big influence on me personally as a musician and I hope everyone gives it a listen.
